Moscow has been caught in a vicious heatwave complicated by a dense layer of smog from forest fires in the surrounding area. According to reports in the press, the death rate in the Russia’s capital has doubled from the dual onslaught of high temperatures and terrible air quality. See this article in the Examiner.
